The motto "art for Art's sake" simply disregards the world of morality,
values and rights of human life. "Art for Art" means nothing
Art for artwork that would be a fair formula. "Art
for Art" means a certain absurdity: imaginary need for the
artist to be an artist, and for art to cut
yourself from their own reserves, with all power, fuel, of the energy
the source of which is human life.
In fact, art is beginning to lock himself in his proverbial tower
ivory only from the XIX century, caused by discouraging
degradation of the cultural level, with the characteristic of this degradation
positivist, sociological or materialistic mindset.
But the normal state of the art is significantly different. Aeschylus, Dante,
Cervantes, Shakespeare or Dostoevsky worked under a glass cover. Have
they were great human intention. They were not written under the assumption that
written has no effect. Perhaps Dante didn't believe that creates a
a sort of catechism designed to draw readers to the way of salvation? Is
Lucrezias not expected to promote the philosophy of Epicurus, Virgil with
the spelling "georgica known as" - to recruit manpower for agriculture, and Wagner -
to glorify the Teutonic religion 14 ? For all that, committed by them
it was not some kind of propaganda. All true artists and poets
the abundance of human material only contributed to the rigor with which
everything was subordinated to the good of the work and subordinated domestic
the autonomy of this in-itself-existent space.
