I absolutely wanted a pink sapphire

When it was time for Diane-Sophie Lanselle to receive her engagement ring for her upcoming marriage, she wasn’t about to leave the details to her future husband.

The director of communications for the 403-year-old family owned Parisian jeweler, Mellerio dits Meller, knew what she wanted and it wasn’t a typical diamond ring. Instead, she went for color choosing a ring with a pink sapphire center stone mounted on 18k white gold enhanced with diamonds.

“It was my idea and I absolutely wanted a pink sapphire because I love the color and it was more original,” she said during my recent visit to the venerable high jeweler on Rue de la Paix.

Of course, she purchased the ring from her employer saying there’s “no other place for personalized engagement rings.”
