From the diagram it follows that in myth there are two semiological systems, oneof which is partially embedded in another; first, mb. language system, language(or other, similar ways of representation); I'll call itLANGUAGE-OBJECT, because it goes to the myth that buildson the basis of its own system; secondly, it is itself a myth, it cancall METALANGUAGE, because it is the second language spoken by aboutfirst. When the semiologist analyses the metalanguage, he had no reason to be interested inthe structure of the language-object, to take into account the peculiarities of the language system; it takesthe linguistic sign in its totality and sees it only from the point of view of thethe role it plays in the construction of the myth. That is why the semiologist fullthe right is equally suitable for written text and design: it is important tothe property that they are both SIGNS, ready to build a myth; and thatand the other is endowed with the function of indicating, and the other representlanguage object.
