Buffer questions. In the study of problems of migration of rural population into the city often formulated a series of questions about social services in rural areas. Then to clarify the motives of moving to a city rural residents are asked what attracted them to the city. If these issues are not to divide, not to put between the blocks of the buffer question, it may happen that the first series of questions will influence the answers to subsequent questions concerning the motives for moving to the city. So, if a Respondent answered that in the village where he lives, poor cultural and community service, there is no club, mail, library, no conditions for leisure, then it is reasonable to expect that he will advance these causes as leading in the decision to move to the city.
The researchers did not just fall into such traps set by themselves. To neutralize the influence of questions about social and cultural services for villagers on the respondents ' answers about the motives of moving to the city, it is advisable to formulate a number of buffer issues.
The character buffer of the questions can be absolutely different: this can be questions, distracting from the main topic, surprise topics. As a buffer there may be issues and any other block of the questionnaire.
