The idea Human Ivory visited Majerus, when her wisdom teeth removed. After she turned them into rings and earrings, some teeth diy donated teachers from the Design Academy in Eindhoven and familiar dentist.
Majerus cleans, bleaches and polishes the material, giving it a resemblance to pearls. "In the process of cautious transformation of the human tooth unpleasant associations and disgust replaced the attraction and beauty," - explained on the project website.
The designer offers to turn teeth into jewelry lost by age. "The older you become, the greater will be your personal collection of pearls of teeth" - she writes.
